Around 1:00p.m. Monday, the unidentified mother went to the Franklin Street Fire Station in Grand Rapids, and gave firefighters her infant.

A very slow moving area of low pressure will bring showers into the weekend.  We should look for mostly cloudy skies with occasional showers this afternoon.  Rainfall is expected to be around a tenth of an inch or less.  Temperatures will climb into the low to mid 50s north and mid 50s elsewhere.  Winds will be southeast at 8-16 mph inland during the morning and decrease to 5-10 mph from the south.  Winds along the lakeshore will diminish from 10-20 mph to 6-12 mph from the southeast.

56-year-old Thomas Heugel is charged with unauthorized practice as a health professional. He's accused of performing circumcisions on three adult males in a bedroom of his Sparta home. Investigators say Heugel told his patients he was a medical doctor.
