Rockford, MI. (WZZM) - There's nothing unusual about Rockford being highly ranked, undefeated and featured in the "13 On Your Sidelines" Game of the Week. The same cannot be said of the Rams' opponent this week.
Grand Haven enters week five with a perfect 4-0 record and tied for sixth in this week's state rankings. The Bucs' already own signature wins over Muskegon and West Ottawa. But their matchup at Ted Carlson Stadium is a chance to show the state this football team is championship caliber. "We've played in a big game," says head coach Mike Farley. " We felt that Muskegon was a huge game, one of the biggest games the school ever had and we were able to come away with a win."
The Bucs are turning heads around West Michigan and in Rockford, veteran head coach Ralph Munger says their recipe for success is a good one. "I'm not so surprised. They're a blend similar to us with a lot of juniors playing especially on defense. And a lot of offensive personnel are made up of seniors."
Will the Bucs pull their biggest stunner yet? Our consensus is no. Tom Clyde picks Rockford 27-14. Dan Harland says Rockford 21-14.
But the Bucs hope to have the final say. Join us for scores and highlights on "13 On Your Sidelines" Friday at 11:15 PM.
